Homicide Unit Investigation

North College Hill and Cincinnati Police are investigating the homicide of Steven Duke Jr.  On April 7, 2012 at approximately 9:15am, North College Hill Police were dispatched to 8291 Four Worlds Dr for a male slumped over in a vehicle.  Upon arrival, officers located Steven Duke Jr unconscious and unresponsive in the front seat of a black Chevrolet Impala.  Mr Duke was confirmed deceased.  Investigation of the crime scene revealed a bullet hole in the vehicle and a broken window.  Tenants of the complex her heard the sound of shots between midnight and 1am.

October 13, 2011

   Homicide Unit Investigation

 

 

On October 12, 2011, at 8:36 p.m., a District Four police officer was flagged down at 2600 Jefferson Avenue by a subject reporting the front seat passenger of his vehicle had been shot. Fire Personnel responded, but the victim had succumbed to his injuries. Further investigation determined the location of the shooting was at 2218 Rice Street.

The victim has been identified as Evan McCray (a black male born 4/11/1982). There is no suspect information to release at this time. The Homicide Unit will continue to investigate the death of Mr. McCray.

       Homicide Unit Investigation

The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Section is asking for assistance in solving the (cold case) Aggravated Murder of Heidi Bake.  The offense occurred on June 11, 2010 in the 2500 Block of Wenning Road in Colerain Twp.  During the overnight hours, 3 black males forced entry into the residence of Ms. Bake and her boyfriend.  The three suspects were all described as approx. 6 feet tall, thin build, wearing white tee shirts and masks.  All three suspects were carrying a firearm, which ultimately lead to Ms. Bake and her boyfriend being shot.  The boyfriend survived his injuries however Ms. Bake died as a result of being shot.

The Cincinnati Police Homicide Unit is investigated a homicide that occurred at 615 Maple Avenue. On Friday, February 5, 2010 at approximately 4:27 p.m., Police Communications received a report of a shooting. District Four officers and Cincinnati Fire Department personnel responded and found an individual at that location. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim has been identified as Rolandus Mitchell.

The Cincinnati Police Homicide Unit is investigating a homicide that occurred at 3651 Irving Place. On Friday, January 23, 2009 at approximately 2:25 a.m.m, Police Communications received a report of a shooting. District Four officers and Cincinnati Fire Department personnel responded and found an individual at that location. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by the Hamilton County Coroner’s Office. The victim has been identified as Micah Wise.

   Homicide Unit Investigation

 

The Cincinnati Police Homicide Unit is investigating a homicide that occurred at 800 W. Eighth Street. On Thursday, January 1, 2009 at approximately 1:00 a.m., Police Communications received a report of a shooting. District One officers and Cincinnati Fire Department personnel responded and found an individual at that location. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by the Hamilton County Coroner’s Office. The victim has been identified as Jimmy Patterson, a male, black, 23 years of age.

       Homicide Unit Investigation

 

On 6/19/08 at 8:20 a.m., Cincinnati Police received a 911 call to 643 Manitou reference a deceased body lying in the woods. District Four officers, along with Cincinnati Fire Personnel responded and located a decomposed black male wrapped up in two blankets lying on the ground.

On 6/20/2018, the Hamilton County Coroner’s Office ruled Mr. Billings’ death a homicide. Mr. Billings died as a result of a gunshot wound to his body.

Homicide Unit Investigation

The Cincinnati Police Department’s Homicide Unit needs help with information regarding the homicide of Victoria Thompson.  On June 6, 2008, at 12:21, District Three police officers responded to the 3200 block of Moosewood Avenue for a report of a drive-by shooting. Upon arrival, officers discovered a shooting victim inside a residence.
 
The victim, identified as Victoria Thompson, 39 years old, was pronounced dead at the scene.

September 29, 2007

   Homicide Unit Investigation

The Cincinnati Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred at 29 West Galbraith Road on Saturday, September 29, 2007, at 4:10 a.m. District Four police officers responded to that area, but were later redirected by Hamilton County Sheriff’s deputies to the Speedway Service Station at Galbraith and Pippin Roads where two shooting victims were located. Colerain medical transported both shooting victims, to University Hospital where Mr. Dudley succumbed to his injuries.

Investigation by the Homicide Unit is ongoing.

September 19, 2007

   Homicide Unit Investigation

On September 18, 2007, at 2301 hours, Cincinnati Police Communication’s dispatched District Four police officers and Fire Department paramedics to a reported shooting at 1330 California Avenue. Responding officers located the victim outside at the location.

The victim Justin Moore M/B 19 (10/11/1987) was pronounced dead at the scene.
