Cincinnati Central Credit Union
Bank Robbery Investigation
At approximately 10:52 a.m., District One uniformed patrol units were dispatched to 1717 Western Avenue for a report of a robbery at the Cincinnati Central Credit Union. The subject entered the Credit Union and placed a cardboard box on the counter at the teller’s window, stating, “There is a bomb in the box” and demanded the teller give him money. After receiving an undetermined amount of cash, he exited the Credit Union and ran in a northeast direction toward Winchell Avenue.
A Cincinnati Police Explosive Ordnance Detection (EOD) Canine Unit responded to the Credit Union to inspect the box for an explosive device. The box was found not to have any explosive device or material.
Criminal Investigation Section, Major Offenders Unit is looking for a male black, late 20s to early 30s years of age, 6’0 tall, 200 pounds. The subject disguised his appearance by wearing a dust/allergy mask to cover his mouth and nose. Additionally, he was last seen wearing a grey hooded sweat suit jacket that zipped in the front, blue jeans, white gym shoes and black gloves. The subject left the Credit Union carrying a large black book bag with a shoulder strap.
